Isn’t summer wonderful? I am very relieved that we can currently enjoy it a little more carefree and can currently move more freely between the countries. I also spent a few summer days at home in South Tyrol. The balmy summer nights with a light mountain breeze and then the heat in downtown Bolzano have such a special flair, which you start to miss when you’re away longer. Also, the luxury of living in the middle of the countryside I learned to appreciate so much over the past years. I’ve never thought that I might loose my love for the city life a bit at some point.

A few weeks ago I spent a very nice barbecue evening at home in the garden. There was a special occasion here, because I wanted to test my OFYR Tabl’O table grill. One thing is said in advance – it will not be the last time.

My boyfriend is a passionate griller and I’m usually spoiled when he fires up the grill or smoker. Of course, you’ll find much smaller barbecues in the garden. With the OFYR Tabl’O tabletop grill I have finally found a smaller tabletop grill that not only functional, but also aesthetically meets my requirements. I find the classic grills super bulky, and between you and me, not very aesthetically pleasing either (don’t tell my boyfriend that though!).

Lighting EASY!

The Ofyr Tabl’o consists of a bowl on which the grate is placed. In the middle there is a closure, with which you can regulate the air supply. The starter set includes the quick lighter jug. You can stack the coconut briquettes in it and then light them with the quick lighter. However, the process took us a little longer than expected. The coconut briquettes are completely gray when they are ready to grill. The briquettes are then placed on the grate and covered with the grill plate.

Then the grilling fun can begin at the table!

The table grill is particularly suitable for 2-6 people. For such a small table grill you can occupy the OFYR Tabl’O very well. Not only the meat, but also the vegetables turned out very well. Grilling is just fun, especially because there is not just one person at the grill and everyone else has to wait.

We grilled very classically this time. With the OFYR Tabl’O you can buy an iron casserole, which I will get soon. This can be positioned in the center of the grill and then also used for baking or also for steaming dim sum, among other things, as I saw on OFYR’s recipes page.

We spent a wonderful barbecue evening at home with friends. It will definitely not be the last evening!

And at the Summit Bar I immediately get a refreshing welcome drink. Tastes delicious!

South Tyrol’s Kronplatz is a veritable El Dorado of active highlights that should make sports enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies alike happy, writes the Falkensteiner Hotel. I know the Kronplatz in winter and gladly confirm this statement. It is a very special pleasure to let off steam on 117 km of dream pistes at Kronplatz in wonderful snow conditions and then sink into a hut afterwards. I can only warmly recommend such a skiing vacation.

But first to the late summer / autumn program of Experience Concierge René: What would I have imagined? Experience an individually designed and personalized adventure in the Pustertal mountains or go out together with the concierge? Paragliding from Kronplatz and landing in the cornfield, a sideseeing flight with the hot air balloon, hiking or yet the extreme climbing tour? A round with the mountain bike or “downhilling” down from Kronplatz? There is something for every taste. But I leave the falcon flight and the hot air balloon to the other guests and enjoy watching the fun from below. Canyoning or rafting in the wild waters of the Pustertal, that sounds good. Golfing would be possible in the only 1.8 km from the hotel 9-hole course of the “Golf Club Pustertal”. In the hotel itself, I could let off steam on the indoor climbing wall and test the various levels of difficulty. And maybe even hit the jackpot? But no one would have managed that yet… And in the modern gym would be super great high-tech cardio equipment and I should not forget.

Fitness studios are everywhere, but this unique diverse mountain landscape, you can not find everywhere.

So then, off to the mountains!

A long mountain tour would be just right and I have been looking forward to it for a while. Unfortunately, however, rain is announced for tomorrow. There seems to be no agreement with the weatherman here.

No matter, for this I have plan B: in the LUMEN, the photography museum at Kronplatz a new exhibition opens. The Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz cooperates with the LUMEN, so my Experience Concierge is not offended.

It’s just a 5-minute walk to the cable car station and the ride up offers a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain landscape.

E-BIKE TOURto the Reintal

The Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz rents out e-bikes to guests. Racing bikes and mountain bikes bring the guests themselves. That sounds at first like offer for very comfortable bike laps. But active sports concierge Renè says he would choose a challenging bike tour for me. And I would be happy to be on the road with a battery-powered bike. I’m excited about the e-bike tour into the Reintal valley to the three waterfalls.

I get an e-bike in suitable size and can start. For the first time it goes downhill in the direction of Bruneck. The bike path passes close to the city center and I also quickly explore this charming little town.

The city of Brunico left behind me, I continue along the many green fields and castles in the direction of Reintal.

The Reinbach Falls – The three waterfalls in Rein in Taufers are an impressive natural spectacle and an insider tip in winter, when they freeze over and present themselves as glittering ice sculptures. Already here at the 1st waterfall I am impressed by this wild nature and the water power.

I can hardly get enough of this natural splendor and the thunderous roar of the water of these three waterfalls. Back to the launch site, I treat myself to the fun of whizzing through the woods on the Fly line.

On the way back I cycle again along these beautiful green fields.

In the early afternoon I am back and look forward to lingering in a cozy outdoor spot and another experience in the hamam.

I wish you a belatedly beautiful first Advent! Yesterday I sat down full of anticipation at the laptop to write a few new articles for you, but then the technology has made me a line through the bill. Blog deleted, server down, domains incorrectly linked – everything was there. Thank god everything is running again.

It’s already Christmas in our apartment. Last year we didn’t have a Christmas tree, this year I got one again. Currently, it is still a little sparse in the apartment, but smells wonderful. I will decorate it probably only in the coming days. It’s not December yet.

I had already bought candles for our Advent wreath but unfortunately I had no idea what kind of wreath I wanted to make this year. Originally I wanted a very classic wreath, but am then at the idee. Creativmarkt came across this wooden wreath, which I can still decorate the coming years at will. For below there was also the matching round tray. Especially with Christmas decorations I wanted to buy something that I do not immediately throw away again, but can still use often. How do you like it?

I’m slowly falling back into my winter truck – curled up on the sofa and best not to leave the apartment for the whole weekend. While I have the whole summer really bumblebees in the butt, I try to slow down in the winter properly. Now it’s a few more weeks to grit my teeth and through the work weeks until the hours stand still for a few days. Christmas with the family, cozy in front of the stove, small gluttony with one or the other glass. I’m looking forward to it!

Home office time has started again. I really wonder when we will finally get off this hamster wheel. Party clothes are being swapped out again with lounge wear. Of course, it would be better if you can combine the two. I did.

I found the pretty (and really super cozy) set at Hunkemöller. The Black Friday Deals I could not really resist this year and it is yet landed some in the shopping cart. After a somewhat fancy top under the blazer I had been looking for some time and have also found. I also find the back detail particularly beautiful. In combination I would wear it but only at home. I’m looking forward to wearing it soon at a dinner with highwaist jeans and oversize blazer over it. I’m strongly hoping that the destination will stay open for the time being so that restaurants can stay open.

My past weekend was a mixed bag of activities, meeting friends, continuing to rearrange in the apartment (rearranging always just ends up rearranging) and a little bit of shooting. The blog has suffered here already something the last few months. I’m due to work unfortunately not come at all. For the coming year, however, I have resolved to provide you again more regularly with content. Promised.

Fresh flowers just make the room feel more alive. I enjoy it every morning when I first see it on the living room table. In the evening in the dim light, the flowers also appear completely different again.

Personally, I am also someone who has everything. Especially on birthdays or Christmas, I just never know what I should wish for. I have not kept a wish list for a long time. Flowers are therefore such a wonderful gift. Everyone is happy to receive them. Plus, sending flowers has become so easy these days. Flowers at Christmas? Sure. There are wonderful winter and Christmas flowers.

Christmas BRUNCH

Table decorations for a Christmas brunch can achieve full effect even without much decoration. For me, a few Christmas baubles, tea lights and gold tones on the table are enough. This way, the Christmas bouquet of flowers will not steal the show either.

The crocos bloom in Jenesien and Mölten is every year again a natural spectacle. Every spring, the meadows of the Salten and in Mölten turn into a sea of croc blossoms. Many years I had the misfortune not to see it myself. This year it happened to be at the same time when I was at home. I could not miss the crocos bloom in Jenesien / Mölten.

I was working at home a week before Easter. After a busy day at work, an evening walk was just what I needed. Breathing in and out slowly (although rather gasping for air very quickly after my condition was super bad after Corona). Enjoying the quiet of the forest and then the meadow plain.

We took a shortened route and looked for the flower on the fastest way from Bolzano. Vom Gasthaus Edelweiss in Jenesien kann man entspannt zehn Minuten hoch auf den Salten spazieren. There we already encountered the first white to purple colored crocos flowers.

The longer hike leads from the parking lot Tschermoos up to the Möltner Kaser and from there you can also continue up to the Stoanernen almonds – two highlights in one. At the alp Möltner Kaser you can also stop for a bite to eat. A call in advance can not hurt there, because in spring the opening hours vary.

On the way back, we enjoyed the wonderful view of the Catinaccio with its famous peaks, as well as the Sciliar of the Alpe di Siusi. Oh yes – we also met a few Haflinger horses, which were just returned to their pasture.

The summer comes slowly again. Here the question arises again – Mare / Monti? Mountain or sea? Meanwhile I can’t imagine a better combination than first spending a week in the mountains and then relaxing at the sea. From South Tyrol you certainly have a great starting position here. Down to Italy (yes – South Tyrol is in Italy, but as a South Tyrolean you always say “down to Italy”) it’s only a few hours to the sea. But for now, we’ll stay here in this beautiful region of Italy.

E-BIKE TOUR on the Alpe di Siusi/em>

Today there is a sporty tip on the Alpe di Siusi. Last summer I had the pleasure of going on an e-bike tour on the Alpe di Siusi with one of my best friends Marc. Marc as a local knows not only on the Alm geographically, but also historically super. He knows the Alm inside out.

In winter I always spend a lot of time on the alp. Snowed in, it is also a dream. No less impressive is the mountain panorama in summer. The view of the Schlern, however, always remains spectacular. No less exciting is the view in the direction of Val Gardena with Langkofel and Plattkofel. You can see this particularly well in the picture above.

• Did you know that the Alpe di Siusi is the highest mountain plateau in Europe?

With the cable car from Siusi you can ride your e-bikes up to the plateau and from there you can ride the entire plateau within a few hours on the various bike trails. It’s crazy that with e-bikes everything is now so easily accessible. However, we were lucky and the alp was not very crowded.

KNÖDELTRIS as strengthening

We rode all the way to the “back” to Saltria and stopped for a bite to eat at the Tirler. I could not miss a delicious traditional Knödeltris.

• The Tirler – Dolomites Living Hotel is also a wonderful 4* hotel with a great position in the middle of the nature reserve.

Once again a wonderful experience at home. But next time I will be without electric and with my new gravel bike.

The Berliner looks forward to the summer for eight endless months. Finally out of the city again and into the Berlin environment. In Berlin and Brandenburg there are beautiful lake landscapes, for which a small day trip is definitely worthwhile. To my surprise, there are actually many lakes with sandy beaches.

Today I present you a few of my favorites, which I visited the last years.

Lakes of Berlin and Brandenburg
GRÖßER STECHLINSEE

One of the most beautiful lakes is the Stechlinsee in the north of Berlin. Großer Stechlinsee is about a 40 minute drive from Mitte. The lake is known for its incredible water quality. From the pay parking lot, you walk a few minutes through the forest to the lake and find a larger beach with a kiosk. To the left and right of it you will get to somewhat quieter places in the middle of the forest. A small boat trip for a few hours is highly recommended. The peace and quiet on the lake is beautiful.

WANNSEE

Always a classic and also easy to reach by public transport is the Wannsee. Whether it’s a round trip by bike, a leisurely ride out on an electric boat or relaxing in the Strandbad Wannsee offers a lot of activity options.

The Strandbad Wannsee is always well attended. The popular bath is characterized by typical western Berlin architecture. The lido has a 1.2 km long sandy beach filled with Baltic Sea sand. A day of vacation like at the Baltic Sea. The best part – the fresh water (I am a big fan of fresh water instead of sea water).

• Did you know that Strandbad Wannsee is the largest inland lake resort in Europe?

I highly recommend an aperitif on the Wannseeterrassen. The sunset is beautiful.

Rent a BOAT on Wannsee

We’ve recently rented a license free boat from Mimikus Bootsverleih and had such a fun day. We got one of the 15 ps boats named “Wanda” for 8 people. Additionally, you can rent a barbecue which is definitely to recommend. Take the whole day because you’ll need some time to drive down to Wannsee and to get back it needs some extra time because of the headwind.

BERNSTEINSEE

Another highlight found through the great book “Take Me To The Lakes” is Bernsteinsee. Also north of Berlin in Marienwerder is Bernsteinsee. The book tells you three secret places where you can enjoy the weekend undisturbed. Here, too, you’ll find sandy beaches among the woods. It’s best to take your own provisions with you. The nearest restaurant is at the neighboring lake with wakeboard park.

HALENSEE

Halensee is very easy to reach from the city. This is probably the lake where I have been most often in recent years. Friends of ours lived at the lake and spent a lot of nice moments there. The lido, then called Kudamm’Beach has now reopened this season as Q Beach. We usually combine a visit to the lido with a visit to the market at Karl-August Platz and then cycle on to Halensee. The lake is close to the highway, but you can still find quiet moments. At Strandbad Halensee you can also meet one or two actors and actresses.

This year, many new lakes will be explored in any case – the Berlin summer can come!

That was a great summer! With little great expectations and plans I started the summer. Who would have thought that the weather played along so well this year. I spent the summer in Mallorca, was happy this year to spend a lot of time at the lakes in Berlin, caught South Tyrolean air, swam in Lake Garda and let the summer end at Lake Garda.

New discoveries on MALLORCA

We spent a wonderful vacation also Mallorca. June was still so nice and quiet and the beaches were almost deserted. A highlight of our vacation was the visit to the bay of Banyalbufar. I have seen so long more such a beautiful bay. The water could not have been more turquoise and crystal clear. A wonderful afternoon! We will definitely come again.

LINEN, LINEN, LINEN!

This summer I have come to love linen in particular. We’ve had great linen bedding for a few years now. Linen clothing, however, I have had little. We cruised around Mallorca a lot on the scooter, where I couldn’t do without a light linen blouse. White linen clothing is all the more beautiful – how about a light sleeveless linen dress for the coming summer?

easy peasy LEMON SQUEEZY

You don’t leave a full lemon tree just like that. We harvested so many lemons that for the first time we didn’t know where to put them. A good friend gave us the idea to make our own limoncello. I didn’t even know how easy it was. Unfortunately, we had only hand luggage and brought the shells with us to Berlin and put some on here. Bottled a few weeks later – a dream! Summer basics & SUNNIES

The more colorful the better is usually my motto. But every now and then I really like my simple basics. The great thing about my basics is that I can also wear the tops as a third layer in the winter. In the summer, all you need is a pair of eye-catching glasses and every outfit is saved.

BBQ’s outside

We had a few very nice barbecues this summer. All the more beautiful with a Mediterranean ambience and also times throw a little more fish on the grill than meat. A light summer salad and a cool drink – what more do you need.
